total cost

The scorn of the crowd; it didn't hurt;
It didn't matter that I fell down in the dirt.

The stripes on My back, the blood that spilled;
It was all done as I obeyed the Father's will.

the mockery, the ridicule; the spitting, the nails;
All to prove that redemption shall forever prevail.

I did it for you, I did it for all mankind;
To save lost, redeem the wayward, to heal the sick; the blind.

My tears fell, My blood flowed freely to the ground;
That those oppressed would not walk forever bound.

See these scars in My hands, and here in My side?
I created a shelter for your soul; a safe place to hide.

I walked more than a mile in your shoes;
And even then the Father said, "There's more to do."

You see, My child, I just came from the cross;
And for you, I have paid the total cost!
