thank you lord, for my friend

When it comes to friendships,
I'm careful who I name;
For often acquaintances and friendships
just aren't the same!
A friend is someone who will bend over backwards,
and not complain;
And if still that is not enough,
that friend will do it all over again.

Someone who will go the extra mile,
and never count the cost;
Someone who's there to pick you up
when your're feeling lost.
A friend is the quietness
of the wind beneath your wings;
The one who can feel the vibrations
of your heartstrings.

A person who knows your sorrows,
and still carries on;
One who will hold your hand
and teach you a new song.
Someone who reaches down
just when the world walks out;
Someone who remains constant
whether you're happy or in doubt.

The one who dusts the dirt off your shoes,
and gives you the thumbs-up;
And follows along in the shadows,
just in case you happen to get stuck!
The one who loves you
in spite of your wrong and sin;
And can only remember,
"Hey, that's where I've already been!"

A friend is more than a body and soul;
it's a spirit of team-power,
That gives you the will to keep trying,
in the darkest midnight hour.
It's the one (and there's usually only one or two in a lifetime),
who is always there;
The one who doesn't have to tell you anything,
because you already know they care!

And then they redirect you to the cross of Calvary,
and remind you 'There is no other;
Cast all your cares upon the Lord;
He's the One that sticks much closer than a brother!"
THANK YOU LORD, FOR MY FRIEND! !
