my pastors
I was just thinking today,
as I read God's word,
as I read God's word,
About all the sermos,
through the year, I have heard.
through the year, I have heard.
Now don't get me wrong,
they haven't all sunk in;
they haven't all sunk in;
But I'm sure some of them
have kept me from sin!
have kept me from sin!
Hell fire and brimstoen,
sometimes the flames were hot enough to feel;
sometimes the flames were hot enough to feel;
Other times they preached and made us feel Jesus,
so close, so real.
so close, so real.
I wanted to let my Pastors know, for me,
their labor was not in vain!
their labor was not in vain!
I want them to know I'm still believing,
still praying in Jesus' name.
still praying in Jesus' name.
Thanks for not just the words you have spoken,
but the life you live;
but the life you live;
The deeds I have seen you do,
the gifts I have seen you give.
the gifts I have seen you give.
For being a living example that the Word is alive;
God's still on the throne;
God's still on the throne;
For living above sin, for not just teaching,
but showing right from wrong.
but showing right from wrong.
Live on, live on for Jesus, my Pastors,
my friends, one and all;
my friends, one and all;
Thank you for listening,
for answering the Divine call.
for answering the Divine call.
I know the steps for you are not always easy,
at times you stumble, too;
at times you stumble, too;
But that's the times that I get the honor
of being able to pray for you!
of being able to pray for you!
