HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

I hit the ground running this morning, with a smile on my face;
It was a brand new day a'dawning, and I'm saved by grace!

My eyes opened to the Son, lighting up my room;
There is no time for despair, or sad gloom.

The blood covers me from my head to my feet;
Living for God just cannot be beat!

The cross before me, pointing me straight to the Father;
Devil's behind me, he might as well not even bother.

He's a defeated foe, an enemy to my Father God;
There's joy in serving Jesus; victory in every mile I trod.

Saved, santified, baptized, covered, filled up and ready to go;
My sins have been forgiven; I'm washed whiter than the snow.

As the sin and muck of this world fall all around me;
My Father reminds me He's already met every need.

And you still ask why I choose to serve the Lord with joy?
Try it, my dear friend, it's something no devil can destroy!!

Reach up and reach out and claim the victory He's already given;
You can find this same enthusiasm by which I am driven.

He's my very reason for breathing;
My very reason for being;

And when the valley is low and dark, I sing praises still;
For it is there, again, I see Him, I find Him so real.
