let it begin in me
Revival’s coming, help us spread the word;
Might be the greatest this church has ever heard!
The singing’s gonna be great, the fellowship, too;
And preacher won’t hesitate in what he needs to do.
But before preacher packs his bags and heads this way;
“Father, would You start YOUR revival in my heart, today?
Set my dry fields on fire and a’blazin’,
For it is Your name, I should be praisin’!
Let me regain that first love I have walked off and left;
Let me not forget how I have been saved,
how I have been blessed!
But that lacking, wherein I have let other things come in;
Lord, THERE, there, would You rekindle my fire from within?
Let me once again stay on my knees
until the dawn of morning;
Never making way for this flesh,
that right now I am adorning.
May the tears ever flow, as I cry out to
You in the midst of the night;
And may it ever be my footsteps You hear,
walking toward Your light!
Fill my soul once again with Your mercy and grace;
Make me long to always seek Your face.
Make me just like Jesus, dear Father, I pray!
And never let this world get in the way.
And when preacher finally does arrive at our church;
May he see and know that You,
Father, have already begun a work!!”
