LEAD ME TO THE BATTLEGROUND
Lead me to the battleground;
I have just begun to fight!
Show me the way to go, Lord,
for I am made strong with Your might.
Mine enemies are made
as dead men on my right side;
Those on my left are stilled,
as though they, too, have died.
The weapons of my warfare are not carnal,
but they are mighty
Thru God to the pulling down of strongholds;
so lead me t’ward the fightin’!
For it is not my battle,
but it is the Lord’s;
My weapon is quicker and sharper
than a two-edged sword!
For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war after flesh;
Let’s get the battle over with and done;
once more we’ll be blessed.
I don’t mind the fire,
for from hence comes the truest gold;
I won’t walk around the enemies, they,
took need to hear the Gospel told.
I’ll step up to the front lines,
for I know not how to fail;
In my weakness, He is made manifest,
in my battles, He will prevail.
